There is an epidemic in this country. You could say it's an attack, a pandering, a slight of hand, a juxtaposition, either way they are lies meant to persuade you to believe anything but the truth. Words are a powerful thing. They are meant to communicate thoughts and feelings, even ideas of things yet to be known to our culture. But today, especially today, we are seeing how words are being used to skew perceptions, to be used as a weapon against the reader. Most don't pay enough attention to realize how a word or a phrase can be used against them. Hyperbole; exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally, are in fact taken literally for the sole purpose of deceiving and/or attempting to win a particular argument.
